Sheryl Osterman

Sheryl S. (Gresham) Osterman, 68, of Hamburg, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis, with her family by her side.The daughter of the late Alfred & Susan (Hannel) Gresham, she was born in Hamburg at her parent's home on Irish Hollow Road on September 6, 1949. She married Larry L. Osterman, on January 25, 1969, at the Methodist Church in Hamburg, and he survives.Surviving in addition to her husband, Larry, are a son, Jerry A. Osterman of Hamburg; a daughter, Jina L. Osterman (Severin Birchler) of Evansville, IN; three sisters, Donna L. (Bob) Stork of Springfield, Phyllis K. Billings of Alton, and Mary J. (Art) Cunningham of Carrollton; one brother, Larry L. Gresham of Kampsville; mother-in-law, Fern Osterman of Kampsville; one niece and five nephews, three great-nieces and five great-nephews, and two great-great nieces.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce A. Gresham, and father-in-law Fred Osterman.Mrs. Osterman was a 1967 graduate of Calhoun High School. She and her husband owned and operated a lumber business for many years, in addition to an excavating business, from which she retired five years ago. She served as an election judge in Hamburg for many years and had a passion for helping others. Her health challenges never dampened her spirit of giving. Most of all, she dearly loved her family and friends.Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, at the Hamburg Cemetery with Pastor Sharon Renner officiating. A dinner for friends and family will be held following the service at the Hamburg Town Hall.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts be made to the Hamburg Cemetery drop box.
