Ronald Mielke

Ronald Eugene Mielke, of Roodhouse, formerly of the Walkerville area,  67, died unexpectedly at 5:46 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2018 at his residence.He was born in Bakersfield, California on March 4, 1950, and was the son of thelate Roy and Clara (Corder) Mielke.Like many of his family members, Ronald and Rose traveled across the country working in various orchards, picking apples, strawberries, cherries, etc.For forty five years, he and Rose Mary Malson shared a life together and raised their children in the Greene County area, and shared many happy memories until her death on February 17, 2015.Surviving are two daughters and sons in-law, Mariana and James Cook of Granite City and Lacey and Scotty Ray Thompson of Roodhouse; two sons, Ronald Mielke Jr. of Roodhouse and Roy Mielke of Walkerville; four grandchildren, Scotty, Madison, Royce and Emma.He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved partner in law, Rose Mary Malson; two infant daughters, Jeanie Malson and Cheryl Malson; and two brothers, Roy Mielke and Francis "Jake" Mielke.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday.He will be laid to rest in the White Hall Cemetery.Memorials may be given to his family in care of the funeral home.Remembrances may be shared at crawfordfunerals.com
