Marianne Wyatt

Delhi |

DELHI – Marianne (Stansberry) Wyatt, 67, died at 11:57 a.m., Saturday, October 28, 2017 in the Emergency Room at OSF St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton.

She was born on June 24, 1950 in Decatur, one of three children born to the late Dewey M. & Mildred L. (Hodges) Stansberry.

Marianne grew up in Virden, where she graduated with the class of 1968 from Virden High School.

Shortly thereafter, she married Robert Wyatt and together they made their home in Alton before relocating to Delhi in 1982 where they continued to raise their two children.

After her children were grown, life took Marianne to various locations before her health began to decline. It was at this time that she became a resident at Alton Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, where she has remained for the past several years.

A homemaker the majority of her life, Marianne also worked for a short time at both Walmart and Casey’s General Store. Her true passion, however, was decorating. The Holiday Season, in particular, gave her the opportunity to bring light and color to nearly every surface of her home. The same could be said even after her move to Alton Rehab & Nursing, where her room was always thoroughly decorated and updated for each season throughout the year.

Running a close second, was her love of shopping. Whether it was clothing, shoes, makeup, jewelery, or anything else for that matter, if there was an occasion to shop for, Marianne took full advantage of the opportunity, for both herself and others.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Sherri & David Volz of Minooka; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott & Renee Wyatt of Jerseyville; five grandchildren, Hunter Wyatt, Madelynn Gilman, Jackson and Zachary Volz and Mia Wyatt; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda & David Crawford; a sister-in-law, Karen Stansberry, all of Girard; as well as her former daughter-in-law and her husband, Gina and Pete Allen of Grafton, who Marianne maintained a close friendship with throughout the years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Stansberry.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12 noon, Friday, November 3, at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville with the Rev. Brent Meyer officiating.

In lieu of any flowers and plants, memorials may be given to the Family in care of the funeral home. The family also invites those who are able to attend to join them for a luncheon immediately following the funeral services, catered by the Loading Dock of Grafton at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jerseyville.
