Amey May Garrett, 76, passed away at 3:40 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2017 in her home in Delhi, IL after a battle with cancer with her family by her side. She was born September 3, 1940 in Salem, Kentucky the daughter of Eliza Ann (Manus) Foster and Charles V. Foster. She loved spending time with family, camping and fishing. She retired from Walmart in Jerseyville. She is survived by her children and spouses: Woodrow Jr. and Jeanette Garrett of Dow, IL, Patricia and John Abbott of Jerseyville, Randy and Melody Garrett of Brighton, Henry Garrett of Alton, Timothy Lee Garrett of Delhi, two brothers and one sister; Phillis Jean Heiserman of South Roxana, Edwin Mackelden Jr. of Blytheville AR and Jerry and Gloria Mackelden of Jacksonville, FL, several nephews, nieces, brother in laws and sister in laws, 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and one great great step daughter. Amey was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow R. Garrett Sr., a son, Edwin Garrett, her parents, a sister, Mary Light and her step father, Edwin Mackelden Sr. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
