Lucia Lewis

Lucia M. Lewis, 88, passed away at 4:21 am, Saturday December 26, 2015  at Jerseyville Manor.She was born in Corozal, Puerto Rico on July 15, 1927 the daughter of the late Guadalupe and Jacinia (Rosado) Vasquez.On August 9, 1960, she married Ray Lewis in Granite City.She was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville.  She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and most of all taking care of her grandchildren.She is survived by two children Rose (Jason) Meyer of Rockbridge and Mark (Sarah) Lewis of Alton; Daughter-in-law Tammy Lewis of Plainview; Eight grandchildren Jamie (Ezra) Boyd, Lacey (Joe) Hoagland, Amber (Ryan) Walls, Paul Jr. (Ashley) Lewis, Madeline, Martha, Peter and John Lewis; six sisters; five brothers; eight great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ray and a son Paul Lewis.In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 12 pm to 2 pm Tuesday December 29, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL.Funeral service will be at 2 pm Tuesday December 29, 2015 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, IL with Father Tom Liebler officiating. Burial will follow at Bethalto United Methodist Cemetery.Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s Association.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
