Visitors to Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean especially need to be cautious about mosquito bites. Pregnant women are most at risk since the Zika Virus can cause birth defects and are advised not to travel to these areas.
Public health spokesman Melaney Arnold says travelers should wear insect repellant, cover exposed skin, and stay in air conditioned or screened-in areas when possible.
