The Madison County Board is continuing its commitment to improving area roadways. Board members unanimously approved a resolution that allows the board to fund $100,000 of roadwork in Wood River. Madison County Board Chairman Alan Dunstan says that despite the recent string of approved projects, the Board isn’t doing everything they wish they could.
County Board Member and District 15 Representative Chris Slusser says he is excited about what the project means for downtown Wood River.
The plans for the approved project include the resurfacing of 7 tenths of a mile of Ferguson Avenue that spans from Old St. Louis Road to Sixth Street. Once the repaving is completed, new sidewalks will also be installed along the roadway.
