The death of a Wood River man has been ruled an accident by a Madison County Coroner's Jury. Authorities believe 20 year old Justin Dale died after he may have been playing a choking game that is popular among some young people. Dale was found in his Ash Street home on May 3 with a belt around his neck and the other tied to a pipe used to hang clothing.
Madison County Coroner Investigator Kelly Rogers says there was no suicide note, and after speaking to family and friends believed there was no strong evidence that Dale wanted to commit suicide. Rogers says investigators found evidence on Dale's computer that there was a search for the choking game as well as a search for suicide, and his position in death could have been consistent with either.
