It didn't make it in time for Christmas but the snow finally arrived early this morning, but it didn't last long. Wet snow fell across the River Bend after Midnight and into the 5:00am hour this morning, with about an inch or so on grassy areas and on most streets. Some less traveled roads and hills were slick, but most paved areas were free of snow and slush by early afternoon.
The snow lastest until the sun hit it and the temperature topped 40 degrees and it could be smooth sailing into the new year. Highs later this week will top 50 degrees.
