The Alton Area Animal Aid Association is among the many groups looking forward to tonight's opening of West Side Story. Actors and Artists for Animals in cooperation with Music Theatre International present the classic musical this weekend at the Nazarene Community Center in Roxana. The venue is also known as the "Old Roxana Theater."
Director Sue Mueller says the 5A's is 55 years old this year, the same as West Side Story.
She says there is a good chemistry on-set, which is seen on-stage as well. Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for students. Ad on $2 if you buy your tickets at the door. Performances are at 7:30pm tonight and tomorrow, with a 2pm matinee on Sunday.
