An area state representative is calling out Governor Pat Quinn and his plan to shut down seven state facilities. While lawmakers are working on funding measures during the fall veto session, Jacksonville Republican Jim Watson says Governor Quinn's plan to shut down the facilities is politically motivated.
One of the facilities slated to close is in Watson's district. The shut-down proposal will put more than 19-hundred people out of work and lawmakers still haven't announced any plans to avert the move. Watson says it's not fair for Quinn to prey on the state's most vulnerable citizens. He says Quinn can find money in several other areas, including grounding some of the state's airplanes.
