Your water and sewer rates could increase if you live in Wood River. It’s been 8 years since the last water rate increase, and another 10 years before that to the previous one, according to the city’s Public Services Director. Steve Palen tells The Big Z the last time sewer rates were increased was in the mid-1980’s.

He says the city has the lowest rates in Madison County, and is in the bottom 5% in the state. Information was given to the council on a couple of proposals, but no action was taken.
