Brant Walker's bid to become Mayor of Alton will have to go through the write-in process. A judicial review of the electoral board's decision to deny him a spot on the ballot has been completed, and Judge Clarence Harrison has ruled in favor of the Electoral Board. The ruling states Walker was indeed in arrears to the city for sewer and refuse bills at a rental property on Marie Street.
Walker says he is obviously disappointed in this decision.
As a back-up plan, Walker filed the necessary paperwork to run as a write-in candidate. He feels that this will energize his supporters. Election day is Tuesday, April 9.
