Alton Mayoral hopeful Brant Walker has one last shot at getting on the ballot, and that is through the judicial review process. His campaign filed the necessary paperwork to start that process on Monday. A date for the review has not been set yet, but should be scheduled soon, as the Madison County Clerk needs to finalize the ballot before the end of the month.
Madison County Clerk Debbie Ming - Mendoza says the Chief Judge will assign the case to an Associate Judge to hear the review, with both sides having a chance to state their case. She says it is her understanding this will be a fairly efficient process:

She says overseas absentee ballots will be sent out beginning February 25, with early voting starting February 28. So, she says, the process should play out soon. Last week the Alton Municipal Officers Electoral Board ruled Walker did not meet the requirements to run for the office - a claim Walker vehemently denies. No date for the appeal has been set yet.
