Walk for Wellness is a program aimed at stopping heroin use. The Madison County chapter hosted a walk yesterday in which a woman who lost her husband to a heroin overdose back in March took part in the walk dedicated to her husband.
Jana Green lost her husband Shannon to a heroin overdose on March 8th. The walk started at the parking lot of Maevis Coffee shop in Alton. Participants wore bright neon shirts with anti-heroin messages on the walk. The walks started in St. Peters Missouri when a woman named Gee Vigna lost her daughter Niki. There are now chapters in 6 states. The group tries to organize a walk every month. This months Madison County memorial went to Shannon Green.
