Now that a stopgap budget has been passed by state lawmakers, local service organizations and schools are waiting to find out when and how much they will get paid.  An agreement was hammered out last week that will fund schools through the school year, and provide other funding for the next six months.

That includes money for social service agencies, but Impact CIL Executive Director Cathy Contarino tells The Big Z she has no more information other than what she has heard on the news.

Alton School District Director of Finance Chris Norman tells The Big Z they will able to proceed into the fall with the knowledge there will be funding to make it through the school year.

Norman says some of the money will be coming from the General State Aid formula, which was based on estimates from earlier in the spring, so it's "wait and see" as to what the actual amount of funding will be.
