Legal help for Madison County veterans with limited means will be possible due to the work of the county’s Pro Bono Committee and its new series of Veterans’ Legal Assistance programs. The Veterans’ Assistance Commission has secured short-term limited funds to allow it to pay a reduced fee to attorneys to handle cases that can be concluded with four to five hours of legal services.
Judge Barb Crowder, Chair of the Third Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee, says this will help some of those who have served our country get through what can be an overwhelming time in their life.
