The United Way of Greater St. Louis is hoping to bring in 72-million dollars as part of its 2012 fundraising campaign. Carrie Zukoski with the United Way of Greater St. Louis says the goal is a million dollars more than last year, which shows the economy may be improving.
Locally, the goal for the Southwestern Illinois Division is $1.83 million, which is slightly less than the goal from last year. That division serves social service agencies and organizations throughout the River Bend and surrounding counties. Anyone wanting to donate to the campaign can go to this story at Alton Daily News.com for a link or call the local office in Wood River at 251-0072.
