You are invited to a trade show today that will showcase the products and services offered by some budding entrepreneurs.  Two-dozen high school students will have their wares on display at the Southwestern Illinois College Belleville and Granite City campuses.  This is the culmination of a year's worth of work on the student's behalf.

During the past year Patrick McKeehan, Director of the Illinois Metro East Small Business Development Center, tells The Big Z these students have worked with leaders in the local small business community as part of the program.

The program is a part of the Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO) program launched more than 10 years ago by the Effingham, Illinois-based Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship.  While currently only available locally to students in Belleville and Granite City, there are plans to expand to Alton at the start of the next school year.  Today's trade shows run from 4-6 p.m. in Belleville, and from 5-7 p.m. in Granite City. Admission for both shows is free.
