The steady decline in the state’s unemployment rate has leveled off. The rate stayed at last month’s level of 6.6 percent, ending seven straight months of decline. Illinois Department of Employment Security spokesman Greg Rivara says the streak had to end sometime. “The rate being unchanged is not surprising”, Rivara said.
