The state unemployment rate dropped slightly last month. The jobless rate fell from 6.4% in May to 6.2% in June, reflecting a decline in the labor force, according to Illinois Department of Employment Security analyst Ron Payne.
He says about 2,200 jobs were lost last month.

Gains were made in professional and business services and financial activities. The national unemployment rate for June came in at 4.9%.
