The unemployment rate increased in most metro areas of Illinois last month. The jobless rate rose in 12 of the state's metro areas compared to one year ago. It dropped in the Chicago area and remained the same in Lake County.
Illinois Department of Employment Security analyst Ron Payne says more than 33,000 jobs were added, but in limited areas.
