Charges have been filed in connection with the murder and robbery of a Collinsville man late last year. The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office announced Farmington, Missouri, residents 45 year old Eva Heisch and 34 year old Jessie Werley, Jr., have been charged in the death of 68 year old Daniel Taylor.
Police in Collinsville were called out for a welfare check at Taylor’s home on December 8 and found him deceased. Authorities say he had a neck laceration and multiple stab wounds and had been dead for about 48 hours. The Major Case Squad of St. Louis was called to assist in the investigation and authorities pieced together that Taylor’s death took place during a robbery, and Heisch was a previous acquaintance of the victim. Each suspect is charged with three counts of first-degree murder and a count of armed robbery. Both are in custody and will be held in the Madison County Jail on $1-million bond each.
