Two St. Louis women have been charged in connection with an attack on a driver and her vehicle during a protest that shutdown Interstate 70 on Monday afternoon. The two are accused a punching the driver in the face as she attempted to drive through the line of people blocking the highway.
26-year-old Brittany Ferrell and 21-year-old Alexis Templeton were arrested Monday afternoon. Authorities say the pair assaulted a SUV driver who tried to push past them and other protestors that were blocking I-70 in Earth City. Police say Templeton punched the driver through her window and Ferrell kicked the woman's vehicle causing five-thousand-dollars in damage. The driver eventually got through the line and drove away. She reportedly suffered a black eye in the confrontation. Ferrell and Templeton posted bond and are awaiting a court date.
