Two people have been arrested in Jersey County in connection with an investigation into alleged stolen firearms. The Jersey County State’s Attorney says Danny L. Kimbrell and John L. Kimbrell were taken into custody on Wednesday after the execution of a search warrant at a home on Spanky Lane near the Greene County line.
According to authorities, they were tipped off to the possibility that stolen firearms were at the residence. Several dozen weapons were seized in the operation, along with ammunition and body armor. Danny Kimbrell has been charged with unlawful possession of weapons. John Kimbrell has been charged with possession of a stolen firearm. Authorities from the Jersey County Sheriff’s Department, Carrollton Police Department, the South Central Illinois Drug Task Force and the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System SWAT team took part in the operation.
