Two young people are facing charges after police say they were responsible for the robbery of an employee of the Wood River McDonald's earlier this week.  Authorities say 20 year old Chelsea Stewart and 17 year old Ben Hart, both of the 100 block of Smith in South Roxana, have been charged with felony aggravated robbery and are in custody.

Police report Hart was actually arrested on Tuesday by Alton Police in connection with an alleged retail theft from the Kmart in Alton.   At that time, authorities say he had a large amount of cash in his possession, and discovered he was a suspect in the Wood River incident.  Wood River Police report Hart was allegedly seen with Stewart in the drive through of the restaurant shortly before the robbery took place on Monday.   At that time, police say it was a young male who was their suspect in the robbery of a store employee who was leaving the restaurant with the daily deposits.   Stewart was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon. About $15,000 was stolen in the robbery, and authorities say most of it has been recovered.
