A Bunker Hill man who is facing charges in two counties in connection with the alleged assault and kidnapping of his estranged wife back in the spring has pleaded guilty to charges in Calhoun County. 36 year old Jonathan Trexler pleaded guilty to aggravated kidnapping and possession of a controlled substance this week. A charge of aggravated battery was dropped.
Trexler is accused of kidnapping his estranged wife from their Jersey County home on April 6, taking her to a trailer in Calhoun County where he allegedly assaulted her. Police located the pair the next day and the woman was able to escape and Trexler was taken into custody following a brief standoff. He is still facing charges of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated criminal sexual abuse and home invasion in Jersey County with his next court appearance set for July 25. Sentencing in Calhoun County is scheduled for August 2.
