The Tree of Lights, Red Kettle Campaign of the Salvation Army is now underway. After all of last year’s donations were counted, the final tally was $112,000. This year’s Red Kettle campaign is aiming for $103,000. Eighty-five percent of all money raised during the Red Kettle Campaign stays here in the community
Alton Salvation Army Lieutenant Teri Ellison says the money raised will help meet the needs of the community.

She says the overall goal for this fundraising season, which includes all campaigns, is $262,000. The kettles are currently in place at Schnucks stores in Alton, Bethalto and Godfrey, with more locations to be added this weekend..
