The Marine-backed charity Toys for Tots is hosting a benefit concert and dance Saturday night in Bethalto. From 6pm-midnight, five different bands will take the stage to raise money for the organization. Local organizer Jaques Jacoby says the show will be headlined by local country/rock act Borderline.
Last year's innaugural event raised about $10,000 for the charity. He says they will also be stationed in front of a local store beginning Friday morning in an attempt to get some holiday shoppers to donate.
Instead of selling tickets for the dance, Jacoby asks that that each person attending the show bring a new, unwrapped toy or make a $10 donation to Toys for Tots. All toys and money collected at this event will stay in the St. Louis Area. Borderline will be joined on stage by Whiskey Dixon, Crazy Chester, and The Waters Trifecta.
