Farmers are urged to use caution as they try and push through the harvest season this fall. Farming remains one of the most dangerous jobs, with 80,000 agriculture related injuries reported across the country last year.
University of Illinois Extension Farm Safety Specialist Bob Aherin says most injuries involve machinery.

Aherin says exhaustion often plays a role in accidents, as farmers hurry to complete harvest. He also advises being extra careful when kids are involved. Those most likely to get hurt are ages 15 and younger and 65 and older.
