Two and a half million twinkle lights will all be ready for the show in three days at Alton's Rock Spring Park. Starting Friday, you will be able to drive through the Christmas Wonderland at the park to see the light displays as well as take the kids to visit and get a picture with Santa, and maybe take a carriage ride. The carriage rides are going to be handled a little differently this year, according to Alton Regional Convention and Visitor's Bureau President Brett Stawar.
The cost is $30 for the first person and $5 for each person after that. Call 217-242-1104 for reservations. The annual walk-thru night will be held on Monday, December 2, for just a dollar admission per person. No vehicles will be allowed that night. The Christmas Wonderland display hours are 6-9 p.m. on weekdays, and 5-9 p.m. on the weekends. The cost to see the display is still $7 for cars and small vans, and $1 per person for vehicles with 10 or more passengers.
