Three men from Cahokia have been charged in connection with the shooting death of a man from Venice last year. 41 year old Calvin Tally was shot in his home on December 29 after two masked gunmen forced their way into the residence, took Tally to an upstairs room where he was shot, then fled with cash and marijuana.
The Madison County State’s Attorney filed charges of first-degree murder, home invasion, armed robbery and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon against 28-year-old Lamarcus D. Jackson and 26-year-old Byron Holton. A third man, 26-year-old Undray C. Webb, Jr., is charged with home invasion in connection with the case since he was present at the scene. All three are in custody. State’s Attorney Tom Gibbons credited the work of the Illinois State Police and Venice Police, as well as the Madison County Coroner’s Office and attorneys in his office in helping to bring charges in the case.
