Once rainfall totals for the month are calculated, it looks like this June will be at least the fifth wettest month on record in Illinois. Average statewide precipitation has so far been more than seven inches, ranking this June as the 5th wettest in Illinois.
State Climatologist Jim Angel says with more rain in the forecast, that ranking could still move up.

Angel says the flooding in low-lying areas continues, and the larger rivers are also out of their banks in many locations.
