A third man has been charged in the fatal beating of an area man on May 3rd on a downtown Alton parking lot. 43-year-old John Gleason was hospitalized in critical condition for more than a month before succumbing to his injuries June 6th. 24-year-old Troy R. Gibson of the 800 block of Longfellow in Wood River is now charged with involuntary manslaughter for his alleged role in Gleason’s death.
Gibson is not yet in custody. 24-year-olds Aaron Hosford of the 400 block of Prospect in Wood River and his brother Adam Hosford of the 100 block of Wood River Avenue in East Alton have already been charged in the case. The attack happened on the large parking lot at 100 W. 4th Street. Gleason was reportedly beaten when he tried to break up a domestic altercation.
