The 79th season opener at the Alton Little Theater is just a week away. Next Friday, September 21 is the start of a nine performance run of "Southern Hospitality." The show follows the exploits of four sisters in a small Texas town, one of which makes outlandish promises to the locals in an effort to woo a new business to the town.
Jean Heil says the cast has spent countless hours working on their Texas accents.
The shows run through September 30, which includes two Sunday matinees. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students, and season tickets are still on sale for $70. Group discounts are also available through 462-3205. You can also purchase your tickets through www.altonlittletheater.org
