The idea of term limits is one a recent poll of Illinoisans shows is still widely supported, and a state lawmaker says it’s time to hold legislative leaders and committee chairmen to such limits.State Sen. Dan Kotowski (D-Park Ridge) has introduced a constitutional amendment that would force those officeholders to take four years off from those positions after four consecutive years on.

The sponsor says Senate President John Cullerton (D-Chicago) has no problem with the idea. “He’s supportive of it,” says Kotowski.
