Visitors to Pere Marquette State Park in Grafton have been able to view a live camera feed from an active eagles next at nearby Gilbert Lake, but a recent storm may have put the camera out of commission. The feed is down, and since the camera is mounted just above the nest, there's no way to check it until after the eaglets are born and out of the nest.
Pere Marquette Park Interpretor Scott Isringhausen broke the news on Z-1570's Let's Talk on Thursday. He says normally, if you have a problem with electronics you can check it out at home or work. In this situation, it's not as easy:
He says as far as they can tell, the eagles are unharmed, but it might be several weeks before they know what happened. As a result, a special public birthday party for the eaglets planned for March 31 has been postponed, with the possibility of holding it later in the year.
