Central Illinois Catholics are holding prayers of supplication and exorcism for what they call the sin of same sex marriage. Springfield Bishop Thomas Paprocki will host the prayer service next week at the same time Governor Quinn will be signing gay marriage into law. The service will offer quote, "deliverance from this evil which has penetrated our state and our church."
Bishop Paprocki says same-sex marriage is contrary to the plan of God and those who engage in it are culpable of serious sin. He also noted that politicians who enacted same-sex marriage are co-operators of facilitating the sin. Bishop Paprcki’s prayer service will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield next Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
