It could soon be easier for people to get a drunk driving charge on their record.  The NTSB wants to lower the threshold for drinking and driving from point-08 to point-05 but Illinois officials say it’s too soon to say if they support the idea, claiming they need to do a bit more research.  

But the Secretary of State’s Office points out that drunk driving has gone down by 22-percent since the state implemented its BAIID program in 2009.  That program requires drunk drivers to install an ignition interlock device on their car and blow into it before starting the vehicle up.
