The Illinois State Fair made the headlines with a big concert announcement last week, serving notice it is ready to welcome throngs of fans later this year. Much of the grandstand concert series is already scheduled, and includes Toby Keith, Billy Currington, The Band Perry, Gary Allan and Thompson Square, as well as REO Speedwagon and Styx.
State fair manager Amy Bliefnick says they will soon be announcing another big act.
Bliefnick says admission to the fair will remain the same, at seven dollars for adults and three bucks for kids ages five to 12. Children under five get in free. The Illinois State Fair in Springfield kicks off August 8th with the twilight parade, and run through the 18th.
