The Metro East Start-Up Challenge has announced its winners for 2015. The Challenge seeks to identify, reward and support entrepreneurs across the Small Business Development Center’s nine-county service area. The director of the center says the second year of the challenge was a success based on the level and quality of participation from both sides of the river.
Development Center Director Patrick McKeehan tells The Big Z the winner is a husband and wife team that invented a product called Pacidose.

One of the $5,000 runner-up prizes went to the creator of a fantasy sports app called Slurv that allows players to communicate with each other. The other $5,000 winner went to Monroe County’s Stubborn German Brewing Company. Owners Chris and Tammy Rahn plan to reinvest their winnings in creating German-style ales and lagers.
