The Wood River City Council has filled its vacancy with the appointment of a member of the city’s planning commission. Tom Stalcup will fill the seat that became available when Frank Akers was chosen to be the city’s mayor following the death of Mayor Fred Ufert on March 25th.
Stalcup tells The Big Z he has served on the planning commission for four years:

Akers won re-election last month as a councilman, so Stalcup will serve in his place for the next two years before possibly running for a four-year term in 2017.
