The Alton Fire Department is reminding residents of a voluntary, confidential registry of individuals with special needs.  The Premise Alert Program has been in effect since late 2013, and is adding names to the confidential list.  That list needs to be updated every two years, according to Alton Fire Chief Bernie Sebold.

He tells The Big Z a special need could include physical disabilities confining you to a wheelchair or bed, behavioral or mental disabilities, or a person requiring oxygen.  You can download a form at the city's website:
