A man from Missouri was shaken but otherwise not seriously injured after a plane he was piloting crashed near the community of Rosedale in Jersey County on Wednesday.  66-year-old Dan Harlan suffered bumps and bruises, but was able to walk away from the plane that finished upside down in a field.

Harlan says he rented the plane from Smartt Field in St. Charles County and about 15 minutes after taking off, the plane began to lose power.   He was able to put the plane down in a farm field near Coon Creek Road and it flipped on its roof just before coming to a stop.  A few neighbors called first responders and ran to the crash scene to assist Harlan.
