The hole in the area behind Alton Middle School will be fixed, according to the head of the Alton Public Works Department, and work will begin as soon as lawyers from both sides wrap up the legal work. The hope was to have had the hole fixed by the end of summer, but now it appears it will be sometime in 2015 before it is finished
Alton Public Works Director Bob Barnhart says the fix will hopefully good for all involved, including the neighbors.

Barnhart says the question has been whose responsibility it is to fix the problem, but the time for finger pointing is over. He says Alton Mayor Brant Walker and school district Superintendent Dr. Ken Spells have been meeting to put a plan together to put this issue to rest, and it appears that has been accomplished.
