The Madison County Sheriff's Department is looking for the driver of a truck that apparently abandoned hs vehicle after crashing it early Sunday morning. Investigators say a homeowner on Seiler Road in Godfrey called to report a loud noise, and when deputies arrived on the scene, they located an overturned truck with no driver.
They are hoping to use vehicle registration to determine the owner of the older model red Ford F-250. The driver apparently lost control. hit a mailbox and a utility pole before landing on its side. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate a driver. The crash happened Sunday around 4am in the 1,500 block of Seiler Road. That is a hilly stretch of road, near the intersection with Bethany Lane.
