Residents of Wood River have seen plenty of construction around town over the last couple of years, but one project is just about done, according to the man in charge of the work. The Sewer Separation Project has been ongoing since July of 2011, and the work is nearly done. Steve Palen, Director of Public Services, says the new lines have performed well in this spring and summer's heavy rains, with no significant flooding to report.
The last bit of work is being done in the Rock Hill Road area near Linton, and on to the detention pond. There is also a little work still to be done to the pump station at 10th and Hawthorne, and repaving work where the roads were torn up.
