A Collinsville man and an illegal alien from Mexico are the latest to be sentenced in connection with a large cocaine distribution organization. 44-year old Carmelo Delgado Mendoza of Collinsville was ordered to serve 70 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine. In addition to his prison term, Mendoza will serve three years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a fine of $12,500 and had to forfeit $279,500 to the United States.

A fellow conspirator, 24-year old Florentino Cruz-Amado of Mexico, who was in the United States illegally at the time of his arrest, was also sentenced to 70 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine Illegal Re-Entry Following Deportation, and Possession with the Intent to Distribute Cocaine  . After serving his prison term and three years of supervised release, he will be deported  from the United States. Amado was also ordered to forfeit $210,000 to the United States.
