Three staff members in the Staunton School District have been temporarily sent home from school, including the district superintendent. The Staunton School Board issued a statement that the three had been placed on administrative leave while the legal counsel of the school district conducts an investigation.
The board took the action last Friday, but would not comment on the nature of the investigation, saying only day-to-day operations within the district would continue without disruption for students. Superintendent Rich Stempinski, a principal and a teacher are off the job for now. Police are reportedly not involved in the investigation.
