Work on Illinois Route 67 just north of Godfrey will resume next week. The hope was to do so late last year, but the weather turned cold and wet, and striping work could not be done. Now, it looks like the weather has warmed to the point that rain would be the only hold-up. IDOT Engineer Joe Gasaway says they are looking forward to making good progress in the coming weeks.
Even once it has been opened to four-lanes, he reminds the road will still be under the 45mph construction zone speed limit.
